The many benefits of a nursing chair

A nursing chair (also known as a glider chair) is a staple purchase for many parents-to-be. Designed for mothers to use for feeding and soothing, modern-day nursing chairs have added features that ensure maximum comfort and special bonding moments between mother and baby.

Some of the key benefits of a nursing chair include:

1. Feeding

Establishing a good position for feeding can be tricky, but a nursing chair gives support where it is needed. The process of feeding is much easier if the parents can get into a well-supported and comfortable position.

2. Soothing

The rocking motion of a nursing chair is very soothing, helping to calm your baby and helping to get them to sleep.

3. Developing a routine

Babies respond well to routine, and the calm and comfortable spot to sit whilst feeding helps to establish this in the early days.

4. Comfort

Nursing chairs are designed differently from normal chairs, enabling more flexibility during a feed. A lower chair makes it easier for parents to get up with minimum disruption to their sleeping baby.

5. Good back support

Many mothers struggle with back pain, and a nursing chair will ensure your back is not under unnecessary additional pressure during lengthy feeds.
